About the Artist

Biography

Sam Coutts was born in 1993 and grew up in the small town of Tsawwassen, BC. She began her journey with acrylic paints in 2008, when she began taking classes with Ladner, BC artist, Linda Jones. Since then, she has explored different mediums such as watercolors as well as paint pens for her drawings on canvas and wood. Sam uses realism in her artwork to bring fleeting moments back to life. She focuses on landscapes from her travels around the globe. Her work commands her audience to embrace the beauty in the world around us and to soak up the details of our environment. A few of her pieces feature the human experience to remind viewers that they too are one of natures greatest gifts. In this way, she hopes to remind viewers to get out into the world and experience it to the utmost of their ability. This experience will both bring them closer to their environment but also more in touch with their deeper self.
